Pistons Shut Up , Shut Heat

The Pistons suddenly found their mojo in last night's game just in time to avoid elimination . They beat the Heat and narrowed the gap , 2-3 , in their series. ' I told them it's been 2 weeks now since we've played Pistons basketball . It's time to wake up. ' said an obviously relieved Flip Sanders. And play they did. No bickerings . No fingerpointing . Just play smooth offense and tough defense. The Pistons swarmed on DWade all night long . They made sure that the driving lane is clogged. And there's Big Ben playing his hearts out especially with that big block on Shaq . ' The block by Ben Wallace was that one that turned around the game ' said sports columnist Peter Vecsey. Offensively , Prince was phenomenal. He topscored for Detroit making up for his so so performances the last 2 games. When asked about how instrumental was Prince to the Detroit win and about his skills that Miami seems find hard to stop , Pat Riley said ' Prince has an unorthodox style. He reminds me of one my players before named Jamaal Wilkes ' . Sort of . Jamaal Wilkes ( see photo to the left ) has the same body structure but his jump shot is a lot smoother than Prince's . In fact , The former Lakers forward's ' J ' was often described as ' smooth as silk ' . Wilkes' release is anything but textbook . Not like Atlanta Hawks' Childress , which one announcer called ' ugly ' , but different. One thing sure though , Wilkes can score in bunches .



Just about eveybody in the Pistons' line up elevated their game. Everybody except Rasheed W . What's wrong with Rasheed ? the reporters asked . ' He is still bothered by his ankle injury ' explained teammate Prince . Perhaps. 'Sheed post up game is off and on and his jump shot is inconsistent. ' Rasheed should have an easy time scoring against Walker or Haslem ' said TNT Analyst , Hubie Brown . Why not ? Rasheed towers over them not to mention that he can always pop those 3 pt. shot. I don't think Haslem can run after 'Sheed too far outside the painted area. ' Rasheed can run the middle and curl to make his patented 12' turnaround shot added Brown . He can make all kinds of shots .
Run to 3 pt area and shoot. Run and curl for a 12 footer. Run and low post for a short jumper. All Rasheed has to do is run. Is Rasheed too tired to run ? ' Rasheed is tired running his mouth ' explained acid tongue Peter Vecsey.
